Pathways explores the physical and emotional space of Montreal’s oldest Jewish cemetery. Over time, a neighborhood has encompassed it. The Back River exists in distinct contrast to the Metro station, gas station and one-star hotel that surround it. Black and white photos and maps ground the poems in the real world. Every cemetery contains many moments of grief.
