RAF Squadron Leader Bill McRae flew 43 operations during World War II in Wellington bombers. Based on rough airstrips in the Egyptian desert and later in Malta, Bill and his crew braved anti-aircraft fire and enemy fighters to attack Axis shipping and forces in North Africa and Crete.
