Über das Buch
Initially unconsciously, yet right from the start of his photographic career, the first signs of a freer perspective on things began to emerge. Visible things are the source. They are what he photographs. Even if the photographed object undergoes a transformation—whether due to the photographic technique used or its subsequent modification—that turns it into an abstraction. The original object is usually no longer recognizable. The intention is to create something new.
And every viewer can find, sense, imagine, and interpret their own associations. That is why he deliberately avoids titles. However, the abstraction can also be the original photograph itself. In his photo book *Water Reflections Abstractions*, he writes that often the origin of the result is no longer even known to the author—that is what makes it so fascinating. The viewers are the artists, inspired by the work’s infinite capacity for reflection. Abstraction means individually perceiving the deeper meaning within the superficial.
The beginnings of abstract art were revolutionary in nature at the start of the 20th century. Highs and lows alternated—periods of flourishing and bans. Yet abstract art is more vibrant and diverse internationally than ever before. No museum of any standing can afford to ignore non-representational imagery; often, abstract works are the main attraction of an art institution’s collection.
My Way of Seeing Abstractions.
To Arjay abstraction means to perceive the deeper in the foreground individually
The beginnings of abstract art were revolutionary in early 20th century. Highs and lows alternated - periods of prosperity and prohibition. But abstract art is internationally more vivid and diverse than ever. No museum of distinction can close itself off to non-objective visual worlds often abstracts are the big attraction of an art institute's collection.
