The number 60 has great significance in many cultures as a time of arriving at a pinnacle in life. For example, the Chinese people believe that when a person reaches the age of 60, he or she has completed a full cycle of life, which calls for a grand celebration. Following the 60th birthday, the person begins a new life.
As I reached my own 60th birthday I wanted to share 60 images from my first 60 years of life. Images selected for inclusion on the book was based on a loose set of guidelines that included images created during the first 60 years, significant events transpiring in my life, and still others were selected because they are beautiful to me or in some way compelled me to expand my visual horizon and growth.
These images include still life, botanical selections, people, cityscapes, intimate landscape, and nudes.
