Über das Buch
This book contains the photos from our collection that was developed during the last five years. By taking more and more pictures we found out that our most favorite photographs were done from our porch or in the closest state park. It became clear for us that the beauty of nature could be found everywhere, it is just very important to be attentive to details like unique light, composition and transition of the moment.
Later we discovered a tendency in Japanese culture which existed for centuries and is known by especial respect to particulars. Fine details and aesthetics centered on the acceptance of transience (wabi-sabi) forms beautiful Japanese mini poems - haiku. We believe that haiku and photography have the same basis. Both can remind the unique moments that the author and the reader have experienced.
Therefore we undertook the attempt to express our impressions from pictures in haiku-like poems, that we believe will be a good addition to images. We never aimed to observe the traditional rules of haiku writing. It will be very difficult to do so, taken into account the differences between Japanese, English and Russian languages. These small poems just reproduce our thoughts and feelings that we retained from the imprinted moments.
We don't insist on such perception as the only one possible. We are really hoping that the reader will find something of their own in every picture. Something that will remind him about other places seen, will set the mind into philosophic mood and will fill the heart with admiration by the beauty of the Nature.
