We’d only been in Patagonia a week and there was only one case of coronavirus in the whole of Argentina when we arrived there. However, I hadn’t felt good about the holiday for the whole time we’d been away and an anxiety I had never felt before was taking hold of me. My worst fear came to fruition on the evening of the 15th when Jane discovered that the Argentine president had declared a state of emergency. On the 17th the borders would close for who knew how long? So, on the 16th began our exodus.
