I first trained as a special needs teacher with the Rudolf Steiner movement in Germany, which is heavily Arts based. I returned to the UK, and apprenticed as a potter. I then became pottery manger in a pottery employing adults with special needs in a Camphill Community.
In 1984 my wife and I set up our own pottery in Hay on Wye, on the Welsh borders. This was succesfull for five years - our work was selling in top galleries in this country and abroad. Eventually a combination of divorce and the eighties recession forced the closure of the pottery.
I then set up my own small pottery near Builth Wells (Wales), but soon developed repetative strain injury in my hands, and had to give up.
Then followed a decade of conventional employment, but during this time I took up photography as a hobby.
In 2009 I enrolled on a BAhons course in photography at Coleg Sirgar. I am a member of ARTdot, and have exhibited succesfully with them. I am now working on images for my Degree show
