My name is Joseph Gilmore. I live in Winston-Salem North Carolina. I write short fiction, flash fiction and bad, uncomplicated poetry.

I like to put characters from classical literature into new situations and events. My stories are littered with references to other stories by great writers. I don't think they would mind what I'm doing. It's probably no coincidence that all the authors I pick from are dead. It's probably better that way anyway. It's not always easy to spot the character or the event, but I hope that leaves my story as a piece that is strong enough to stand on its own.

I am 43 years old. I have an old dog and two grown children. My children are away becoming educated adults. I am a vegetarian. My dog is probably not.
