Janice Kennedy Washington is a retired Human Resources Manager who has a deep passion for storytelling. She is the author of three books: “The Girl from Highpoint” a memoir chronicling her life growing up in segregated Mississippi, a romance trilogy, “No Fear in Love” with settings in modern-day Paris, the Harlem Renaissance, and 1900's New Orleans. Her book, “Ella Unbound” is a partly true, partly fictionalized account of the life of her paternal grandmother, a white woman who passed for black in Mississippi from the late 1800's to the 1960's. Most recently Janice wrote her first play, “The Fire and Ice Murder.” A murder mystery/comedy about an aging beauty queen found murdered in a small Texas town. Janice worked for the Houston Chronicle for twenty-five years. She is a proud daughter of the state of Mississippi and has lived in Texas with the love of her life, "Teddy" for the past forty-eight years.
