Howe Sim is a prolific travel photographer whose work has taken him to every continent, all 193 UN member nations, and a total of 252 TCC countries & territories.
His subjects are as eclectic as his destinations: from Rwanda’s endangered mountain gorillas to Greenland’s monolithic icebergs; from the bizarre rituals of Benin’s annual voodoo festival to the cultural treasures of "red zone” countries such as Somalia, North Korea, and Afghanistan.
He has endured everything from the oppressive heat of California's Death Valley and Ethiopia's Danakil Depression, to the frigid conditions of Earth's northern and southern polar regions. During the course of his travels, he has been charged by a bull elephant, entered active war zones, been detained by police for interrogation, dodged an attempted kidnapping, and even stared down the barrel of a Russian assault rifle.
Fachgebiete
In spite of these incidents, this travel addict remains dedicated to capturing the beauty of the world around us, and freely admits that there are no places he won't venture. The more otherworldly his subject matter, the greater his wanderlust. For Howe, it's all about living one's best life today, rather than waiting for a moment which may never arrive.
