Kathleen L. Ryan is a wildlife photographer and author based in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California (Monterey Peninsula). She is known for long-term, field-based observation of birds, mammals, insects, and endangered species. With a documentary approach to photography, she is drawn to moments that reveal behavior, relationship, and character rather than spectacle.
Her book, Witness to the Wild: A Photo Safari in East Africa, is registered with the U.S. Copyright Office under U.S. Copyright Registration No. TX9-581-629.
Her books for readers of various ages are available to check out at the Harrison Memorial Library in Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA, and the Monterey Public Library, in Monterey, CA. Her collection of children's wildlife photo books are part of the Monterey County Free Libraries serving readers throughout Monterey County, including Carmel Valley, Seaside, Marina, Salinas, and surrounding communities.
