Über das Buch
I have always looked at the world with a geometrical eye. Even as a child, I loved building elaborate objects and structures from wooden and metal toy construction sets. In junior high school, my favorite class was pre-computer mechanical drawing – using a lead pencil and T-square to draw three-dimensional representations of convoluted structures.
The photographs in Found Structure reflect my fascination with geometrical structure: Patterns, designs, symmetry and repetitions. These images emphasize spatial relationships and interactions that demonstrate implicit or explicit structure.
Art is all around, everywhere, every day, all the time; wherever you look, there are an infinite number of artistic subjects. Many of my photographs are recordings of those subjects that caught my geometrical eye; they have the telltale elements of patterns, designs, symmetry and repetitions of textures and colors.

Über den Autor
Harlan Crowder
Sunnyvale, California, USA
I started making photographs when I was growing up in Dallas. My earliest recognition was a Boy Scout Merit Badge in photography. My later training and education in computer science and applied mathematics spurred an interest in digital photography and imaging. My photographs have appeared in a number of venues in Northern California, including the Palo Alto Art Center, Foothill College, Berkeley Art Center, Costal Art League, Sanchez Art Center, the Sierra Club, Filoli Center, and PhotoCentral.
