This book is a collection of images taken on a short road trip across southwestern Utah in the Fall of 2012.

Included are two national parks, Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef together with part of the Grand Stairway/Escalante, a very extensive national monument. It is the initial volume of a planned study of the entire Colorado Plateau, a high land cut by innumerable deep canyons that has drawn photographers and painters for more than a century.
