Film artist Mickey MacKenna was born in New Westminster, British Columbia. At the Vancouver Film School of the Arts in Vancouver, British Columbia, he studied animation. It was at this point that he started looking into production design, animation, and film themes. He then earned a Fine Arts degree from the Institute of Fine Arts' Classic Animation Department. In addition, Mickey has directed and written a few short films. Currently residing in Vancouver, British Columbia, he works as a publisher and creative editor for the fanzine magazine CREATURE FEATURE.
