I spent 25 years working as a professional engineer. Over that time, my wife and I saved and invested our money until we amassed enough wealth to become financially independent in our 40s. There is no magic to how we gained financial independence at a young age. We did it by working damn hard and saving wisely. Hindsight being 20/20, we would have attained our financial independence sooner had we invested more wisely at a younger age. The financial advisor community completely ignores a whole suite of good advice that can make a big difference in many people’s lives. Tired of hearing me complain about the poor advice given by others, my wife encouraged me to write a book, so I did. My book is not extremely technical nor a financial textbook by any stretch. It is more about advice, perspective and how to structure your investments so that you may be inspired to declare yourself financially independent sooner than you may have thought possible. Early retirement is possible!
