Über das Buch
Rural southwest China is a region in transition as its people try to balance the benefits of economic development with a desire to preserve their traditions and culture. In addition to ethnic Han Chinese, numerous minorities—Bai, Bouyei, Dong, Miao, Naxi, Tibetan, Yao, and Yi—are striving to maintain their historic villages and preserve their own unique crafts, music, costumes, and cultures. Images of Southwest China showcases the diverse landscapes and peoples of the Chinese provinces of Guangxi, Guizhou, and Yunnan.
