Alain El Alaily is Swiss-Canadian with Egyptian roots, and has been passionate about photography since more than 25 years. After 4 years in beautiful Tuscany he graduated in the year 2000 at the European School of Economics in Communication, specializing in the "Art of Communicating in Black and White Photographic Images".
Ansel Adamas and Cartier-Bresson influenced his work deeply. Eventually he found his own style, merging traditional documentary photography with a more painting style from Iphone-photography, also known as Iphoneography.
He lives since 2010 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, where he co-owns (and works as head chef) the trendy Venus Sophia Tearoom and Vegetarian Eatery.
In his free time he dedicates his inspirations to his photographic artistic expressions, cherishing the abundant beauty his surrounding has to offer.
His first photography book (Alive Photography) was published in 2016, a beautiful gallery of his most recent work; also very educational.
