Laurent Pernot was raised in Valentigney, France before moving to the U.S. His latest book is Fernand: A French Family in War, based on his family’s experience during World War II. A former reporter, he is a college administrator in Chicago, where he lives with his wife Jennifer and his sons Gabriel, Luca and Leo. He also is the author of “Compelled to Struggle”: The Socialist Party in Chicago, 1900-1920 and Before the Ivy: The Cubs’ Golden Age in Pre-Wrigley Chicago.
