Über das Buch
PLUG Projects is a curatorial collaboration established in 2011 by five Kansas City artists: Cory Imig, Amy Kligman, Misha Kligman, Nicole Mauser, and Caleb Taylor. Currently run by artists: Logan Hamilton Acton, Molly Garrett, Caitlin Horsmon, Andrew Lyles, and Marie Bannerot McInerney, PLUG Projects has maintained the mission of bringing fresh perspectives and conversations to the local art community. Our goal is to energize artists and the public at large by exhibiting challenging new work, initiating critical dialogue, and expanding connections of artists in Kansas City as part of a wider, national network of artists. Our collaborative organizational model enables the responsibilities of the project to be shouldered by an accomplished team, making for a richer experience and also a more feasible workload. This allows for each artist to continue their studio practice while participating in PLUG Projects. Exhibitions in our storefront space feature nationally recognized artists from outside of Kansas City as well as give exposure to less visible talent from within our region. In both solo and small-scale group exhibitions, PLUG Projects features artists who are pushing the boundaries of their various disciplines. This book is an archive of the exhibitions and programming that have taken place between 2011 and 2017.
