“Pretty photos are not enough, they need to engage the audience on another level.” I don't think many sentences can describe the work from Dave Kai Piper so well. Iconic photos as the "Flying Horse" and the "Ice Queen" have set DKP on his own path crossing form, function and an artistic motivation to create art with no linear ties. Deep rooted in the world of portraiture, inspired by Beaton, Burton and artists such as Tim Walker, DKP has ambition in the artworld. Currently involved writing for a number of photography magazines, running his own DKP brand of workshops, there is wider understanding of what photography is and can do.
