Über das Buch
Since coming to live in Finsbury Park in 2003 I have formed a strong attachment to it, both on a personal and a social level. My partner’s roots here go back 28 years and I have benefited greatly from her knowledge of the area and the people.
I take great interest and pleasure from observing the cross section of people who live, work or pass through this part of the metropolis. The local buildings and small businesses are a fascinating and pertinent backdrop to the life going on around and within them.
About three-quarters of the photographs in this book were taken in the Borough of Islington. Most of the remainder were taken 'up West', in Kensington and the West End, and a few were taken in Brick Lane. All were photographed during the last quarter of 2010.

I was born in 1939 in Dundee, South Africa. I left South Africa for London in 1961 where I worked in temporary employment and studied art part time, returning to South Africa with a new family in 1966. I lived in Cape town from 1970 until 1980 where I studied Fine Art and Photography and worked as a Printer in Magazine Publishing. I returned permanently to London in 1980 and worked in positions allied to the Printing Industry. I am now retired and concentrate on my art and photography.
