In 2009, I gathered some of my images that were mainly taken on bike rides and compiled them together in what was to become Desolate Symmetry. With this latest title, I hope to follow up on that with more of the same but hopefully in a more "honed" manner. Some of the pictures here are revisits to sites used for images in the previous series. The subjects are mainly from the surrounding countryside, areas less rural and ruined buildings.

All of the images in this book were taken using a Sony Ericsson C905 phone with an 8.1 megapixel camera as hefting a full size camera around on a bike would be additional -expensive- weight. Every image has also been cropped from full size to a square 1:1 ratio and then manipulated digitally. Sometimes the manipulation was a simple brightness and contrast; sometimes desaturating the background and bringing the subject out in colour.

Über den Autor

James Hill
toreSupra Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom

James Hill constantly fails to divide his time between being a father and a husband, developing apps, paying bills, mountain biking without the mountains, computer gaming, eclectic music, trying to sleep, online ranting and thinking about looking through a telescope.

He never quite manages all of those things but tries desperately to pack them into his one life. Although he does not know when he will die he is apparently middle-aged.

He finds writing in third person odd.
